Today, House Speaker Pat Grassley (R-New Hartford) and Senate Majority Leader Jack Whitver (R-Ankeny) announced the appointment of Tim McDermott as Director of the Legislative Services Agency. McDermott was named interim director on January 8, 2021.

On Tuesday, April 26, Representative Lee Hein (R-Monticello) led a bill to support biofuels through the Iowa House for a second time with an overwhelmingly bipartisan vote. The bill, House File 2128, has now gained approval in both the House and Senate and heads to the Governor's desk for her signature. 

An update to the 40-year-old bottle redemption bill is closer than it has ever been before.
